My history starting point began in the Midwest, at the University of Kansas. My undergraduate degree in Social Work began my career in the helping profession. People are truly my passion!  I possess a special skill set and affinity for  helping those in need.  After being employed at Social Work agencies, I decided to pursue my Master’s degree to expand my knowledge base and skills.

Being able to develop  a strong therapeutic relationship is a competence that requires much work and study. Due to my education and work in the field,  I am able to meet you where you are and guide the therapeutic process.

After finishing Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston, I moved to the Pacific Northwest and have lived in this region for the past 28 years.

As a licensed clinical therapist, I’ve worked with patients in private practice, medical facilities, hospice care, and senior agencies. Through this work, I’ve developed a solid foundation in understanding human dynamics, and know how important it is to actively listen. I believe everyone has a voice, and that each individual wants to be a positive, capable person. I will listen, provide actionable feedback, and help develop clarity to overcome past distressing events.

I believe that the most important factor in achieving a successful outcome is the therapeutic relationship. By offering an authentic, healing relationship from which clients can feel safe and comfortable, the ability to share and be heard becomes easier. I will be honest and forthcoming as I accompany clients on their journey of self-discovery.

On a personal note

I have two wonderful, adopted  teenage children who I enjoy spending time with. I find much joy in helping others through philanthropic endeavors and volunteering. As my schedule allows, I enjoy  traveling ,biking, reading, knitting, and visiting with friends.  Because it is important to me to keep my mind active and engaged in new things, I am learning how to play the piano.
