Going through our teen years are stressful enough. The fact that many serious mental health conditions can emerge in the late teens and early twenties further complicates an already difficult phase of life. Common issues that young adults are can be vulnerable to include substance abuse, eating disorders, depression and anxiety. Having a therapist guide and support you as you get accustomed to new expectations, roles and responsibilities during those teen years can be helpful. It’s important to find a therapist you feel a connection with and someone you can easily talk to. The “fit” greatly impacts the effect therapy has for you. I can provide the support and therapeutic modalities that are helpful during your transition into adulthood.
Parents, if you believe working with a therapist may benefit your teen please show them this webpage, along with the rest of my website. If your child consents to an initial visit, please give me a call to schedule a session where your child and I can discuss his/her current situation and decide if working together is a good fit.
